Audio issue w/ Turtle Beach and Killzone3
Audio issue w/ Turtle Beach and Killzone3 –
So I have an odd issue I'm hoping someone can help explain/resolve. I purchased a Killzone3 ps3 slim, took it home, swapped the Hdd for a 500gb counterpart and proceeded to mod it with 3.55 Kmeaw. I have a set of turtle beach x41's I use with my xbox360. Running backups via multiman, my TB's play the audio just fine. Yesterday I decided to fire up Killzone 3 (only legit game owned) I hear audio via my headset on the ps3 dashboard, can even hear the killzone audio when the disk is in the drive while I'm on the "game" disk on the dashboard. AS SOON as the disk reads and I'm playing from it, I hear NOTHING from my headset, yet if i unmute my TV the audio is heard. If I back out to the ps3 dash, i immediately hear the clicks when i move through the dashboard icons. I have NO IDEA why this would be happening.
I've played 4-5 games on my HDD with no issues, yet the ONE game I actually own, I can't get my headset to work. Anyone have any ideas what would be causing this?
go to your system settings on the xmb and check your audio output settings. it has happened to me before that when I have installed/updated the firmware the audio output gets reset, so I have to go in manually and select the optical digital output as the default and also enable "secondary" audio output(can't remember the exact name, but it allows to output 2-channel audio via another output simultaneously).

I can hear audio via my turtlebeaches on the dashboard, as well as games reading from the HDD, but as soon as I attempt to play the game via the BD, i get nothing from them, yet can hear audio via HDMI to my tv.
ps3 to TV via HDMI
ps3 to TurtleBeaches via optical
I've ensured optical audio is my primary audio source, DTS and Dolby are selected along with the greyed out pcm options and duplicate audio is enabled (2 audio sources play at same time as HDMI is my audio source)
Someone here surely has turtlebeach x41's working sucessfully on the site, I need some pointers in getting this working correctly! My audio or lack there of is ONLY when attempting to play a legit game in the BD player. All audio on the dash and games stored internally work just fine through my headset.

well issue resolved!!
Just in case someone else runs into this issue, disable DTS when selecting the optical audio input in sound settings and your good to go!
