ooooo, pics of the arcade cabinet. That's my next project. Always looking for ideas for the controller layout.
sorry i was away, its not the best looking, but it works
ill post a pic when i get a chance
freaking busy building 3 computers for some clients
computers are a love hate relationship ya know lol
Do you have the plans for it still? Also, what are all your buttons? I found some plans I liked on the net, but I'm not sure if I really need all of it. Did you go w/ 4-way or 8-way joysticks?
at the time the 4way where cheap, so i went with that, tho i would suggest you go with 8 tho.
as for plans, sorry bud, i just pictured it in my head, and went to town, most plans i saw online , the cab was ratter small, mine stands at 6-1/2 feet.
and their design was not to my liking.
i went with hagstron 32 i believe is called for the main connection, basically 32 inputs is what i have.
also if i where you, i try to go with a trackball, that way you dont need a mouse.
i bought all my parts from a store in illinoise, happ controlls i think is called, but its been a while so i could be wrong![]()
Someone on the project arcade forums posted their wiring setup just recently. They used Cat5 for all of it and wall panel plates for the connections. That way their control panel was completely modular. I'm thinking I might do the same. Cleans up the wiring completely, and you've got 8 wires to play w/ with every cat5 cable. I see that you didn't go with the module that lights up the individual buttons based on what you're playing though. I'm thinkin about springing the extra cash just for that. How's the LCD in the cabinet treating you? I've hear mixed results.
yeah, back then i dont even know if they had such a thing, but then again it was my first and only time dealing with this, but yeah that sounds a lot better, i would go that route aswell, to bad i didnt knew about it then.
got a link to that please? would like to check it out.
the lcd works good on my end, no problems whatso ever, when i first installed it, there was some flickering, but it was due to settings in my crossfire setup, but yeah, games look good when using filters lol
btw this aint offtopic, i can actually play mame with the ps move and the sharp shooter![]()
What'd it take to get the move to work with your cabinet?
Oh, here's the link. Look how clean it is! Doc's Modular MAME - Wiring the control panel
