Adding force-feedback to a controller
So I have a hori pad 3 pro (wired). It's a great controller so far, just doesn't have vibration. It's pretty big, and I imagine I could add the rumble motors to the handles, and maybe a a few pieces of a dual shock PCB inside.
So I imagine if I kept the main IC inact, and any other IC's that deal with the motors, I could splice a the wires from the USB cord on my controller to a dual shock PCB, and have it just communicate with the motors. I imagine this could work if I could prevent the dual shock PCB from communicating with the PS3 or interfering with the hori controller. In other words, make it to where it receives vibration info, but doesn't send any info back to the PS3 over the wires.
I guess another important thing would be to know whether the PS3 detects when a controller has force feedback or not, because then the force-feedback information may never be sent to the controller.
So yeah, if any of you know anything that could help me, please post.
