Accidentally downgraded my slim to 2.76!?!?
I was trying to QA flag my slim PS3 which had rebug 3.55.2 on it and accidentally downgraded to firmware 2.76!
What is most interesting is that I did that using the official 3.55 PUP.
Also, I'm "almost" sure my CECH-2011A stock firmware was 3.21. I'm saying almost because my box seal came with the broken :mad:; although, everything was ok inside the box.
Edit: I just had a 2.76 game inserted, the ps3 installed the firmware from it. :rolleyes:
These are the steps I followed:
1. Install Rebug 3.55.2 OtherOS++
2. Install the Rebug update 0.2
3. QA Flag with the "extra" pkg
4. Reboot into recovery menu
5. Insert usb with official 3.55 PUP (?)
6. Let it install
7. It shound reboot with the lower version firmware
Also, if anyone is willing to try that, be sure to backup your data. My ps3 rebuilt the HDD database after the downgrade. It didn't delete anything but is better to backup anyway.
I think the PS3 may have a backup of its orignal factory firmware stored somewhere and I have restored that copy. Maybe salecting Update from recovery menu without a usb stick would do the same?
Edit: The QA flag works fine on this firmware.
