60gb down grade from 3.41 to 3.15 issue...very bad

Aparently in order to upgrade you need the original blu ray daughter board, even if its broke....Is this true even for downgrading? I have a 60GB that will DOWNGRADE from 3.55 to 3.41 CFW that bypasses the blu ray, but it wont go any lower. I need it to downgrade to 3.15 and lower so I can remarry a new blu ray board. I dont have the original board anymore. SO does anyone know if there is a 3.15 pup that bypasses the blue ray? or any pups besides 3.41 for that matter?

You can make your BDB 3.15 PUP using PS3MFW very easily.

I downloaded that lastnight, but I dont have a clue as to impliment the ps3 tool and the program, also once I have launched the program I dont see an option for byepassing the blu ray and lastly I keep getting an error that says must have output.
Is there a tut on how to operate this program somewhere?

ok I just downloaded the new version and I see the broken blu ray option, but im still not sure where to put the ps3tools and the tcl stuff at, can anyone help me with that?

do a search for the portable version tools and tasks are all all implemented. REBUG has one posted on their site

actually, to upgrade OR downgrade you DONT need the original bluray control card. you just need a control card - period. i've done it several times already, with either a broken control card or a completely different control card. the ps3 just looks for any control card, not if it's the one married to it.

I dont have the original anymore, what I want to do is marry a bmd006 card to a 60gb system.....thats a 410 drives card. It wont downgrade with that card attached. Im to scared to place the bmd 001 board out of my functioning ps3 into the system because I sdont want to loose blu ray movie play. I think if I can get it down to 3.15 I can marry the bmd card.....though as far as I know no one has tried this before. Basicly marrying a 40gbs blu ray drive to a 60gb system.

Ok so from what I have online it looks like with the bmd 006 board attached it will not downgrade, however it should marry once it is downgraded, it looks like people have been successful with this. I guess i'll find out one way or another as soon as I can downgraade. I am really confussed as to why it wont downgrade unless blu ray is byepassed even though it does have a controller board.

that will not work, as far as i know. the 410 card wants to control a dual laser bluray drive, whereas the 400 card wants a single laser. and if you didnt know, there are actually TWO versions of the 40gb, cechg or cechh. the cechg has a single laser, the cechh has a dual laser. they are NOT interchangeable and like i said, as far as i know, cannot be remarried even when brought down to v2.30 firmware - the hardware is just different. think about it, why wouldnt sony themselves upgrade 20/60gb systems turned in for repair with DUAL laser blurays knowing that the failure rate is extremely better? they cant, because THEY cant even do it....

and if you did a little SEARCHING on the forum, you would have come across this thread: finally-remarry-bd-drives-other-consoles/ (Finally Remarry BD Drives To Other Consoles)

as far as your downgrading problem, the reason why you can go to v3.41 ONLY is because the firmware you used was modified to not look for bluray... and then if you try to go down further, you're using firmware that WILL look for it. what you need to go to v2.30 is a modified v2.30 that doesnt look for bluray. but even if you found that, you'll find out that you cant remarry a 410 board to a 400 console.
