I do have European PS3 (PAL-region). Which version of firmware 3.41 I have to use, because I do not want to make mistakes by updating my PS3.

People who have PAL ps3 with firmware 3.41 could you report that this version of firmware is correct to be used with PAL ps3 ?

theres three letters "US, EU, JP" Does it mean that there three versions?
I read somewhere that one version of firmware can be installed on any ps3 from all over the world. Is this true?

yea if you think about it you buy a PS3 over in say the UK it can only run PAL EU games so there for if you try and update it with say JP then you might run into errors
its like putting petrol into a desil car it just wont take it unless you somehow change the egine and what not to accept a diffrent type of fule :)
so say u changed something in the PS3 to play games with a region code of JP then you can play games from that region
but truth is i have a feeling that the ps3 can play more than pal if bought in the UK :)
The PS3 is regionless, but the firmwares are region specific. Ex. You can play a US released game on a EU console, but your firmware installed is the EU firmware.
Hi, I am from Australia and I will be coming into a PS3 that has 3.40, I was wondering if an Australian Ps3 uses the EU firmware of if it's a different one?
if it's a different one, would someone be kind enough to give me a link to the Australian 3.41 firmware?
