2TB External HD - Will this setup work?
2TB External HD - Will this setup work? –

I need a 2TB drive that also has an eSata port on so I can transfer at decent speeds from my PC.
I am looking at buying:
Samsung F4 EcoGreen 2TB 32MB 5400RPM
Sumvision 3.5" SATA HDD Enclosure
Will this setup work ok with the PS3 connected via USB? When I get the Samsung drive should I just set ata to 150 and disable SMART and I should be ok?
I'm just worried about potential spin-down issues.
Thanks for your help guys.

Apologies - Assume I should have posted in the jailbreak forum as my query is to do with potential spin-down issues.
Can a mod move this please?
Thanks

Stay away from the green drives. They all have issues with spin-down inherently. Your better off getting one that doesn't have Eco or Green in the name.

Thanks for the reply. Have you any cheap non-green model number suggestions? Ideally don't wanna be paying for the price of a wd black 2tb when speed isn't an issue!

I am curious as well for any suggestion son external hdd. my current one is pissing me off bc it will spin down while playing a game.
or if any one has any suggestions on a larger then 750 gig internal. i know that there are some adapters but i cant seam to find any.
i would prefer an internal solution for like 2 gigs and not have to rely on bms other than initial install.
thanks

Just curious.. Has anyone partitioned an external and used say 1TB fat32 and 1TB NTFS or HFS+ etc? Curious if it'd work okay, found a good deal on a 1TB but even better for a 2TB and could do with the room!
