2 broken PS3's

I just need some help please

The first playstation
I received this ps3 to fix. When disk is inserted nothing happens. The loading icon spins but the drive doesn't spin. I bought a new laser and it worked until I turned it off and back on and now the same thing.

The second playstation
This is mine its a BC 60g first gen. It will power up but no video or audio but has a green light. The fan turns on for about a second and then turns off. I tried to enter recovery mode and it only happened once and froze. It has stock FW. Also the power button will turn it on but wont turn it off.

Well this is my issue. I just need some insight on what to do now.

1st PS3: I'd guess a potential logic board issue, as it sounds like it isn#t even trying to read the discs.

2nd PS3: I suspect part YLOD. Your RSX chip might be coming away from the motherboard. Try a reflow.
