in simple words no ps3 slim drive bay is too small a 9mm should fit perfectly, am not sure if there is any available in 1tb, i came across this 750gb though and one of the users review says it fitted into his ps3

    Western Digital Scorpio Blue 750GB

why do you need the 1 tb anyway? if its for running back ups then i would go with 3.5 in WD black 1tb @7200rpm and 64mb cache

    2. Click R1 in multiMAN let it do its thing
    3. Launch the game, when back at XMB click disc icon/game icon
    4. Update if theres one, and away you go

How are you supposed to lock it in, without the metal caddy?

You don't unless you do some creative cutting on the caddy.

you have to mod the metal cady, you need a hammer and something to make that heights below go down and get in the line with the caddy.
look for a tutorial, i don't know how to explain in english without drawing
