**Question concernig HDD space**
**Question concernig HDD space** –
My PS3 is a CHECH 2001A (slim) Didnt buy it new and dont know what original FW was on it.
Nor do I know if otherOS was ever on it.
When I got it, it had FW 3.21
Before i took my original hdd out of PS3, I reverted back to non CFW and restored and formatted. I bought a 750gb to replace my original 120gb hdd in my PS3.
Before I installed The new HDD in my PS3, I hooked it up to my PC and formatted it.
When it was done, it said the was a total of 698gb.
I installed the new hdd in my PS3, now it gives me a total of 552gb free out of 698gb,
does the PS3 OS actually take 146gb, or can I reclaim some of that back somehow?
The PS3 system got it's own proprietry format, you didn't need to format the HDD in the PC in the first place. Don't know how much HD space the PS3 system takes up though.
Dont know exactly what i did, but; I shut my ps3 down earlier and hooked it up in a different room, it said the hdd was corrupt and that i needed to format, so I did and reinstalled 3.55 ofw, and now I have a whopping 620/698gb now! something was taking up 72gbs for about 2 month now.
