[solved] Is there a way to fix YLOD at home?
[solved] Is there a way to fix YLOD at home? –
I thought I need second ps3 not for jailbreak use. And I found a YLOD fat ps3 for about 20$ (price is in polish zlotys, but I recalculated it for you). I need to know if there's a way to fix it. I have an idea to put it in factory mode (if it is possible, if not you can skip reading the rest and reply 'no') and using factory mode flash another firmware. The console comes without pads, cables etc, but I don't need it actually. I already have one ps3. Is it possible to resurrect a dead ps3 this way? If yes, is it worth to buy such a console? Thanks in advance for possible fast answers, as the auction ends up in 2 hours.

No, the problem with PS3 YLOD is in the motherboard, if you buy it, you need to find someone that reball the nvidia psx chip. Also, that problem occurs in some HP Laptop model with nvidia graphics sames as PS3 and XBOX 360. You can find a tutorial to temporarily fix this problem with a heat gun and others tools. I think the permanent solution is to reball the chip and maybe put another cooler fan.
[lang=pl]Skończy się pewnie na ok. 150 zł. Na 90% już ją ktoś probował naprawiać(Polak potrafi), więc wątpię, żeby dało się z nią coś jeszcze zrobić.[/lang]
I wrote this in Polish for you.
OK thank you very much. Thread can be closed now. I'll reconsider this one, because if the repair is that cheap I might end up buying it and letting someone to fix it.
