You press L1+R1 while in game to bring up the menu and you get 2 choices, "Save Game State" saves the game exactly where you left off and you need to hit "Load Game State" to go back to where you were. The other choice is "Save Game SRAM" which saves the game, not just the state, onto the memory card. You will need a lot of space on your memory card if you have a lot of older games. I actually had 6 MB set aside just for SNES station. Hope this helps.
it just freezes when i either save game state or sram....i don tknow what to do
Is is possible that your memory card is full? If so then try to free up some space.
no, i have 5 mb space free, even when i enter the option menu in the snes station when i hit quit it freezes, am i suppose to press a certain button before saving and such??
The same happens to me with any PS2 slim model. I mean, for some reason, there are some bugs that make the emulator freeze when saving on PStwo models.
On PHAT (FAT) PS2 models it runs correctly![]()
Which version are you guys testing? I am testing: SNES-Station (ffg usbd) v0.2.4
I am also having difficulty making a save. I run mine from mass. I am able to load Roms from USB, but when I try to either make a save or just change some settings in SNES Station, it freezes up.
I think it has trouble creating the ini file inside the MC card. Since I see it has 0 data inside.
And I have also noticed that the date format of the saves and this ini file are different than what other files are in mc0--that may also be an issue?

Hey guys,
I don't use Snes-Station anymore (I have an original Xbox), but I wanted to see if mine froze because I didn't remember it freezing ever and my son uses it on his PS2.
So I loaded Snes-Station (using uLaunchelf 4.42a) on my fat PS2 from a 16gb usb stick:
v0.24 HDD
07/12/2007
ffgMod 01
it loaded fine, ran through the disclaimer, I then loaded Super Castlevainia IV, played a bit and saved, then loaded the save with no issues. I loaded Super Mario All-Stars & World, played a bit and saved also. I loaded the save and again no issues.
Here's a screenshot of the folder Snes-Station made on my 64mb memory card:

It seems that yours was actually able to create that INI file and with a true date. Can you do me a favor? Can you zip that file up and attach it here, I'd like to study it. And while you are at it, can you also include the elf file of that program. I want to make sure we are using the same version. Thanks in advance.
Notice on my screenshot that the SNES.INI file has a weird date. I just tried saving something and it caused that date to be 00 (month), 02 (day), and 2000 (year).
Update:
Did some Googling. I found out that after I load SNES Station and once I am on the screen, I should open my tray (PHAT PS2) and leave it open--if you try to have the tray open when you first launch SNES Station, it may not ever launch until you close the tray. I was able to save settings and also game saves without an issue. I then returned to uLE and the dates of the INI file was accurate and now it had actual data inside the file that I could read (before it was empty).
I did another test without the tray closed and back to square one with the same issue as before. So do I have to keep the tray open all the time while playing SNES Station? Or am I working with a buggy version?
@orcanaoftime, I'd really like to test your elf version. Please zip it and attach it in your reply. You will have to be in the "Go Advanced" reply mode in order to see the attachment feature in your reply post.

That is weird with the date and problem, just give me about about an hour and I will have it here. I just have to go pick someone up.
EDIT: Here is my memory card save and the Snes-Station I use.
EDIT 2: I don't remember a problem with Snes-Station and the tray at all? I just load the emulator and and have no issues except - I noticed if you load a rom, exit and go back to the main menu like 10 times, the emu locks up.
