It's a Windows based subversion client with a GUI interface wrapped around it, but it's a little tricky to use. I'll just upload the zlib source I used here. You can make then make install it inside your ps2dev environment, and it will install it to ps2sdk/ports.
Ok so I made the file from the zlib source and i then tried to compile the FCE source from cygwin and it gives me a long list of syntax errors, every error starts with zlib.h in front of it and a number in parenthesis and then a description of the error.Quote:

Also nothing gets installed into ps2sdk/ports
Sounds like your ps2 environment isn't setup quite right? You should have the PS2SDK and PS2DEV environment variables defined before compiling and installing zlib. Other than that, I'm not sure where the problem is.
Well I downloaded the precompiled toolchain for windows here:
http://ps2dev.org/ps2/Tools/Toolchain
and also installed cygwin just as a normal install (I dont know if theres anything special to be done to cygwin)
and when i try to compile zlib it says:
and does that for 3 or 4 other directoriesQuote:
make[1] entering directory ' cygdrive/i/zlib/src'
make[1] nothing to be done for 'all'
Im also finding that cygwin1.dll is located in the bin folders of cygwin and the ps2dev folder and seem to mess up things when trying to compile things
is there anyway u can add usb support for the roms?
Isn't there some danger with having several folder levels on a memory card? I thought it is meant to screw your MC up if you are not careful. dlanor or E.P. would know, as i think they hit this problem in uLE

The "problem" lies in if you use the ps2 browser to manage the files. If you delete a save from the ps2 browser that has subfolders, the space in the subfolders won't be freed, and you will be at a loss of space. It also doesn't copy properly.
So as long as you don't use the ps2 browser, its ok, and nothing horribly bad will happen.
has anyone been successful in compiling the source
