OK, I'm going to be a dumb ass and ask plenty of noob JTAG questions.
I recently acquired a JTAG Xenon motherboard. I have the CPU and DVD keys stored in 3 separate locations so if I screw the pooch on something, I can hopefully restore.

Under system info, it's displaying 8955, so it's got an older version on it of either xbr, or freeboot or something

    Questions.

1 How in the hell do I tell exactly what I have?
    2. How can I update it properly with no dvd drive? (sata connector is screwed.)
    3. What files do I need to download to make it updated and ready for anything?

I'm sure I'll come up with some more questions later, but I'm tired and feeling very lost on this JTAG stuff.

first things first is connect it to your PC and make a dump of your NAND 4 times and get all the other files of course just in case.

    Fuse.txt
    flashdump.bin
    configraw.bin
    keyvault_raw.bin
    keyvault.bin

i suggest you upgrade the rebooter to FREEBOOT 0.32 and patch it with DASHLAUNCH. you can use [freeBOOT_ToolBox_Maker24]. to create a nand, bin for flashing using you flashdump.bin. All of this can be done on Xellous with a USB stick..

    edit:
im guessing you still have XBR since freeboot comes with 9199 Dash..i was gonna give a link to the guide i used but www.se7ensins.com is out for the moment..

    Here's a link

    http://www.bestpig.fr/
    freeboot toollbox maker.

    - What you need is your flashdump.bin, open it with the toolbox
    - paste your CPU Key
    - select your board
    - select where you t place the file
    - select updflash.bin

optional if you want to boot directly to FreestyleDash or any XEX you can tick either
    NAND
    HDD
    USB

    under dashlaunch tab

i personnaly use dashlaunch autobooting to Freestyle Dash which is great

if it's all done..place the file [updflash.bin] on you FLASH DRIVE.

boot up xellous and it will autodetect the flash file and then it will update your nand. When it's done shutdown the xbox and unplugged the AC cord and wait for about 15 secs and turn on your xbox.

if all is successful you'll be greeted with a setup your xbox menu..

next thing is to update your dashboard with the latest 9199 so you'll get an avatar..

Not sure, have not done any 360 higher then xbr8955 system.

One to ask is w00tman, as when I shipped his 360 back, it was running xbr8955, and he was able to upgrade to the 9199 system without wreaking it.

i get it sometimes when i try to flash my freeboot from 0.32 to freeboot 0.32 with dashlaunch..

this happens when you don't unplugged the cord from the wall outlet or the AC connector on the back of the console.

yep it was the same for me..it just wont load..it keeps on saying USB found something.

what i just did was i removed the USB Drive and AC Cord..then i plugged it in after 10 or more secs after. Starting with the USB then the AC COrd and powered up the unit using the eject botton and booted xellous.

it then finally detected my updflash.bin.

might as well try other USB Drive if it still wont see the file.
