quick question
i have an old falcon elite (i think its a falcon or opus anyway),
i lost the drivekey when i went to flash the drive now my question is can i still have somone jtag it and recover the drivekey? or just use it without a drive to load my games from hdd?

if the system isn't banned and the dash is the 87xx or below, you should be able to do the JTAG hack and use Xell to extract and decrypt your KV.BIN so you can get your CPU and DVD keys.

ahh good news then i lost my drivekey back before the burn fuse update so im pretty sure it'll work and it's not banned....damn now i just need to find someone to jtag it for me >.<

It's not hard to do. Done up my E73 system to check it's last update time. Soldered it up in about a half hour. That includes a using a metal Ethernet port as my connector for my LPT cable. Soldered the port on the back side of the system's facing up towards teh hard drive. this way all I have to do to read or dump is to remove the hdd and grill. I cut out the metal blocking it from the cage.

lol you're quite the handyman if i had done all that i'd be sitting with a smoldering pile of parts lol....though im willing to pay someone to solder it all up for me ^_^

dude, you'd love this version. I should really get my hands on a camera and shoot it. my original one on my working system, I used hot glue and a plastic Ethernet port. Stinks like glue when the system gets warm.
Still to do for it is to make a bracket to hang switches. one for write protect on the NAND, the other(s) to disable/enable the JTAG hack.
You may want to research your board and the JTAG hack to be on the safe side. I know it works on Xenon and Zephyr boards, but I'm not entirely sure on a Falcon or Opus.
If it's a go and you can't find anyone to solder it up by new year's I may be able to take care of it as long as it's here by the 10th of January.

i think according to this
http://www.ps3news.com/XBox-360/free...ards-released/
it can be done...plus im pretty sure i won't be able to find anyone around here to doit :( so i might have to ship it to you and include the return shipping.

well good news i just found out its before the pre-summer 09 update it meets the kernal requirement ^_^

Just a reminder guys, if you have a safe xbox (pre-summer'09), you should right away remove the R6T3 found on the back of the board near the bottom edge of the CPU.
Once this is remove, it will prevent updates from blowing those non-changable "eFuses" which will stop you from doing any future hacks on it.
And if you board is already JTAG'ed, dump'ed and xell'ed and you have XEXLOADER running, you should remove the R6T3 just incase, the "virtual efuses" fail for some reason in freeboot, etc.

didn't know about that. thanks!
