Modded PS3 vs. Modded Xbox 360
Modded PS3 vs. Modded Xbox 360 –
02-11-2011,12:30 PM
Obviously the PS3 Scene is in it's infancy compared to the 360 Scene.
And without going into a debate, looks like it over before it began.
But, I'm thinking about getting a 360 for online play or another PS3 for online play.
And keeping my current PS3 modded as is.
But, I'm thinking about just keeping my PS3 for online play and switching over to a modded 360.
Yet, is the process as simple as the PS3.
Like comparing the PS3 to 360 is it possible to simply upgrade the hard drive to whatever size you want.
Pop a game in the system, rip the game using the system (Multiman in terms of PS3), and play from the internal hard drive.
I'm just guessing that it isn't as easy as that, because I see people seperating games that work for JTAG? (whatever that is) to doesn't work for JTAG....
Thanks in Advance

your not going to be able to pick up a jtaggable xbox for a cheap price, and even if you do they are somewhat prone to the RROD given they are all older models.
Make sure you butter the non reflective side of your CD's / DVD's and Blu-Rays so that when you drop them, they land butter side down thus preventing scratches.

You would need a jtag 360 in order to rip them to the hdd,the ps3 is way easier to mod than a 360, flashing drive on the 360 is not to hard, but if you dont know what your doing you can brick the drive aswell.
i used to have a jtag, it was cool at first, but then it got to be a pain in the ass lol, so i sold it for $400 bucks lol, still have a modded xbox 360, but it is banned, it happened when the AP25 thing came out lol.
Also playing online on a modded 360 is a hassle, sooner or later your bound to screw up and get banned, while i dont play online much, i like the arcade games.
P.S. ps3 scene is not dead, get that right bud :P

What does jtaggable mean? Can I play modded games on an xbox that isn't jtaggable...

Doesn't XBOX360 OOB provides a way to backup the game to hard disk and run from it. Yeah but it needs the original game disk to be inside the drive to be able to play it.
I think that's suffices 80% of the reason why I want to backup i.e save my laser

The PS3 is more like a JTAG xbox in that you cannot really use it to play online (at the moment) and you can install games to a HDD.
Flashed xbox's are identical in functionality to a retail xbox apart from the fact you can burn your own games! You can play them online without any issues

So....
Jtagged Xbox: Install Games to HDD
Flashed Xbox: Can't Install to HDD But Play Burned Games to Disc and Can Play Online without the possibility of being banned?

I would love a JTAG Xbox360, all I have is flashed one! But, as far as I know, don't they ban JTAG systems within a couple hours? So far there has been no PS3 bans…(Activision is behind the CoD Black Ops bans, not Sony) so, once your 360 gets banned, isn't it banned for good? I've heard about KV and unbanning, but from what I have been told, it's a big pain in the @$$ to deal with it. Sadly, the Xbox360 JTAG is a HARDWARE mod (soldering and dash software dependent) where the PS3 is just a flash modification. The ONLY restriction of PS3 is making sure you're not on 3.56….if you're not on 3.56, then you can flash your PS3 (Kmeaw 3.55 for best results). Flashing your Xbox360 requires you taking it apart, hooking it up to a PC and voiding your warranty.
PS3 CFW Advantages:
- No taking apart
- Ripping games to HDD
- Any 2.5" SATA drive will work
- Emulators
Xbox360 JTAG
- Disassembly
- Rip games to hard drive as well as play from DVD-R (JTAG for playing games off Hard drive and I think you have to Flash the DVD-ROM to play from DVD-R as well)
- Bans
- Extremely limited on which Xbox360s can do this

As of 1/26/2011:
3.60 Now Live!
PS3 80GB Non-BC >> Waninkoko 3.55 >> Kmeaw 3.55>> Sold!
Sure-fire way to prevent PSN Bans: Update to OFW!
