How to mod SLIM XBOX 360?
How to mod SLIM XBOX 360? –
11-01-2011,01:24 AM
I just bought a used SLIM XBOX 360 from a guy. He told me that the XBOX was purchased new in store in JAN 2011 and I have not updated anything yet.
Can someone show me way to mod it to play backup games?
I have read flashing dvd drive to softmod to mod chip but I'm still confusing. Can someone tell me the PROS and CONS of each method. Which method is the best way to do now?
My friend told me that he did softmod and still able to download updates and play live from XBOX360 serve. Is it right?
PLEASE, HELP.....

Philips-LiteOn DG-16D4S is the one i have. Do I really need to do the flashing before modding?
Will I able to play live after flashing or just like ps3 which I can not play live?

It is important to know what firmware the drive has as there are many. If the drive is locked you will need a way of unlocking it and it can be simple to very complicated depending on the actual firmware chip inside the drive.
Be warned that if you mod the DVD drive and go on Xbox LIVE you do risk a ban.
You are probably better off sending it to a pro for modding if you have never modded a slim.

It sounds like you guys know a good amount about the 360. Can i install a custom dashboard like the original xbox without modifying the dvd drive? Also does anyone know what the best model 360 to modify? I've heard a little about jtagging which to my understanding only works on the original models without an hdmi port. Basically I'm looking for an easy mod similar to 3.55 KMEAW on the PS3. Or at least if not simple, then the most fully featured. I've seen conflicting guides on the internet. Any help would be appreciated

All XBOX360s regardless whether fat or SLIM require a Hardware mod. Jtagging would be the best option for the older Fat models, and the new Reset Glitch Hack for all models including the SLIM. There is no avoiding in opening your 360 in order to modify it. I would stick with a Jtag as you can have a custom dashboard for it I think. And there is no Softmod for the 360 as of now.

He already said he has a slim so it cannot be JTAGged.
