MP3 Server EDNA and Blackrhino on FatPS2 with HDD?
MP3 Server EDNA and Blackrhino on FatPS2 with HDD? –

Hi,
I have a FatPS2 with Lanadapter and IDE. I can run the Live DVD at the moment, but to use the PS2 with linux it would be great to set up linux on the HDD with or without GUI and run the EDNA MP3 Server to serve my mp3 files within my house (or even via internet). So is it possible to set up the python based edna server on my hardware? Would it be better to use a usb hdd for the mp3 files? What about internet access? Would it be secure enough or is there a alternative way like sshserver for the ps2 linux?
ThXs for replies XD

Sorry, you need to try it yourself.
Linux 2.4 and the openssl is old and have certainly many known bugs which can be exploited, but knowbody wants to write exploits for the R5900 CPU. So it could be safe on this level, but python is more commonly used. Most important is that you recreate your own key and passwords. Don't use the key and passwords stored on the Live DVD.

Why use a python based EDNA Server when you could use smb-shares? And using internal HDD will be more stable because creating file listings through the old USB 1.1 design may be slow.
