    I got the Lite version free with either ops2m or Play never used it.

    I uploaded the compiled version of ecasound to:

    4shared - My 4shared - shared folder - free file sharing and storage

    tar jxvf ecasound-2.3.0-ps2.tar.bz2
    cd ecasound-2.3.0
    su
    make install

    EDIT - sound still crappy and not really usable - darn, just doesn't slow down video with this method.
    "ecasound -b:32 -f:8,1ch,16000,n -i /dev/dsp3 -o /dev/dsp" works great without mplayer running
