With NTSC and PAL modes margins are fine, but they don't seem to change when used with DTV modes? Why? (latest version of debaser's distro loop image on start [PS2]) In thiis specific test I am using SCPH-79004.

There are 2 versions of the original TV margin patch. One with support for component and the older without. It seems that deba5er included the older patch.
I reworked the package from BlackRhino. I think I kept support for component. The package is included in the Live DVD v2. The variables has different names. You need to look at the documentation of the Live DVD.
Here is also a package you can use:
SourceForge.net Repository - [kernelloader] Log of /BlackRhino/src/x/xfree86/xserver-ps2gs_3.3.6-13_ee.deb
After editing the win3 file and the config.txt in the kloader folder, exerything displays as it should with a component cable.

How did you manage to make the kernel parameter "crtmode=" work, before the setcrtmode comand becomes active (from the very beginning of the boot - first drop to bash)? To what is this kernel parameter sent. (I am asking just of curiosity)
The crtmode parameter is processed by the kernel. Setcrtmode can read the configuration or set it. It is executed as part of the startup scripts of Linux.
