Hello. Ive been trying to install blackrhino for a few days now and I can't seem to get it to install. I get get throught all the HDD formatting and mounting and all that but when I go to extract the baseimage I get errors.
This is the site I'm using
    http://kernelloader.sourceforge.net/...talllinux.html
after I mount the HDD and USB I go to the extract step. I type in tar -xzf /usb/ps2linux/blackrhino_baseimage-1.0.tar.gz and I get and error. Thats how the file is in my USB drive. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I can follow all the steps up to step 12-15. Ive done some pokeing around and can't seem to find a clear answer.

I guess you are doing something like this to verify that you can go into the directory tree:
cd /mnt/hda2 <- go to where you want to unpack your files, your hard drive mount point.

ls /usb/ps2linux/blackrhino_baseimage-1.0.tar.gz <- verify you can get to the file on the mounted usb device

    tar zxvf /usb/ps2linux/blackrhino_baseimage-1.0.tar.gz

So far nuthing is on the HDD. I follow the steps to mount part2 and i mount the usb as read only. Ive also renamed the file to read as black.gz.

I don't know. Sounds like you are doing it correctly, but if the mounts work and don't have errors, then I don't understand why you don't see the black.gz file. If you could get a screen shot that would be cool or copy down all text including commands and errors maybe that would help. It is getting late here so I will see tomorrow if you need further help.

Ok now I need to make HDA1 the swap and HDA2 the ext2. The site shows me how to do it but I don't quite understand how to go about doing it.

I've tried a lot of times to get this going. I think I'm getting old commands screwed up with new packs or something. Either it can't find the blackrhino image ps2linux-base.tar.bz2. Instructions says to select the intrid. but There is 2 intrids. The one gets me to a page where I am asked to format. So I format and select swapspace. it hangs after this after it goes through a bunch of stuff then hangs at the "cant find ps2linux-base.tar.bz2r"
    A
pparently this is smarter, way smarter than me. lol PS3 linux is easy

    I can't find in ps2 aswell vmlinux.devfs
What folder is ps2linux-usrlocal.tar.bz2 and ps2linux-base.tar.bz2 supposed to be? It's those that it never can see when I try installing.
