Starting PS2 Linux Live DVD v2 with ESR
Starting PS2 Linux Live DVD v2 with ESR –
I downloaded and burned the PS2 Linux Live DVD v2 ISO image but in my PS2 softmodded the only thing I get is the video. uLauncelf is unable to see the DVD (I have no modchip).
How can I start it?
In the configuration of ULE set "Disc Control" to "on".
uLauncelf is unable to see the DVD
Use ESR gui with "disable ESR after first IOP reset" enabled (or esr dvd off).
If kernelloader hangs at "Reseting IOP" then you should try to use swap method to load the DVD. If that doesn't works unpatch the DVD ISO image and burn it again to another DVD.
The easiest way is to put the DVD into an pc. Then copy kloader.elf on an USB stick and start it with uLauchElf from there. You can also download the ELF file from sourceforge.
Blackrhino also freazes at the kernal loader screen,
does "disable ESR after first IOP reset" have set to off with that? i tried installing via usb instead but i got stuck at what to type into the kernal, I completely new to linux host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc my nad / hdd shows up different to that when it loads the device drivers, says scsi irc.
"host:" is ps2sdk related and not related to Linux. I use this prefix for the internal ROMFS of kernelloader.
You should load the default configuration and then config from the DVD in the "Load Config" menu. This will setup the correct configuration.
I can run ESR then run the kernal loader off mass instead? without the kernal loader freazing? cause when I run the kernal loader from ESR DVD-V it freazes because of ESR which means I can't load config same also happens to me if i try running prebuilt dvd via smb in opl.
ESR and OPL is not designed for starting kernelloader. You need to start it directly.
I don't want to swap discs to load it, you who said load config from dvd, I just want to install it from usb onto my ide hdd but I don't know what to type into the kernal.
thank you Mega Man now it works.
