    Question, noob at LINUX, sorry.

Following your tut i get this error:

    sudo echo "PAL" >/mnt/dst/etc/xmode
    bash: /mnt/dst/etc/xmode: Permission denied

and i have problems saving the fstab file after editing, i get a message saying it's read-only

    edit:
btw, i used latest ubuntu running from usb. For editing fstab i tried vi and gedit.
    edit2:
ok i think i got it, had to use some other commands
    echo | sudo tee -a "PAL" /mnt/dst/etc/xmode
    gksudo gedit /mnt/dst/etc/fstab

I am a real noob at this so I would really appriciate someones help.
I own PS2 Slim console, I do NOT own a memory card, nor I am planning on buying it if not neccessary.
I do have a modchip, named Myth I think.
I have tried to run a previous version of Live DVD Linux for PS2, but it asked me to run ELF file. I found out that I need uELFLauncher, but I cannot find any way to run it without memory card.
So I am interested if this version, version 3 to be exact, can run just by putting in a burned DVD and turning on a system. If not, is there any way I can just burn uELFLauncher on a DVD or CD and run it from there.
    Any help would be appriciated!

    Good work!

By the way, is the USB IO now reliable under the slim models?

xbmcbuntu seems to be x86 only. Maybe it is running on x86_64. I don't know why it is limited. Currently it will not work.

I don't find any description what a bc console is.

The modchip version of the Live DVD should start automatically Linux without any device connected to the slim PSTwo.

USB IO wasn't fixed, but I also haven't any proove that the problem still exists. This needs to be tested.

Edit:The magic wrong error means that there are read errors from the disc. You need to burn it again on a better DVD-R and in a lower speed.

You need to insert any disc. The disc doesn't need to be readable. You can also use the parameter --no-cdvd when starting kloader.elf. Then you can save the configuration on the memory card, it will not try to load a configuration from a DVD.
