    In the file that must be modified \ps2linux\install_config\ps2linux.cfg file we are asked to change host name,address,netmask,network,broadcast and gateway.
    are these settings refering to my router? dsl modem? isp? computer? My internet set up has 2 computers on WI FI and the ps2 connected to the router.
    My router is using DHCP. I cant find broadcast # any where, looked in router set up, computer ip config, modem set up.
    any help would be welcomed.

    @towdog

    While my current distro does not support DHCP, alot of routers support both DHCP and static IP addresses. This means you can set your PS2's IP address and it should still work with your router even if it typically does DHCP to hand out IP addresses.

    This information refers to your PS2's network connection. If your PS2's IP address was 192.168.0.10 and your network was typical (class C) then your broadcast would be 255.255.255.0.
