Well , 40 signatures got the site back online . 10,000 should be enough to get release 2.0 .

Guys I am sorry, do not want to be unpolite, but why no news about "Petition for Linux Archive on front page"?
I think that we are losing time.
This site has something like approximately 25000 visitors---we could gain votes if we could act quicker.
Again --I am not pushing anyone--it is just my thinking aloud.I am just think that Linux on PS2 is very important, at least for me.

I'm on it!
Sorry, to be late.
I had some personal issues to resolve in the past few days and it is not over, till tomorrow afternoon.
So,... I have no clue how to pronounce the news-post at best.
Here's just an example:
The PS2-Scene is NOT dead and it seems, as if there is still a growing demand for PS2-Homebrew&Applications (because of the influx of users comming to the overall console-modding-scene).
Another news beside the PS2ESDL-Article I posted today is this:
PSX-Scene-Member 'evilgeek23' started a petition to give us some more Linux-Stuff back on the old PS2!
The story:
Last year, Sony closed down the website PlayStation2-Linux.com , but promised to create an archive, including all the linux-software...
But as we all know,... (or atleast those which are interested in it)
Sony hasn't done that yet!
A few days ago 'evilgeek23' finally started a petition to get exactly this.
Now people,... Guess what happened, after a few hours after he had set this petition up?
The 'place-holder' of playstation2-linux.com went back up and atleast you can reach the site, where you couldn't even connect to it before...
Here's a PM I received from him:
I created this petition and I would have no problem if it is published along with my name on the front page.
My name is Matt Aves and I was a PS2 modder and PS3 Beta release patcher. I had worked at Sony till 6 years ago.
I used to develop the PS2 linux platform over at Sony around 2001, and it has a soft spot in my heart.
When I left in 2006, all responsibility was shifted to Sarah Lemarie ( nice woman and programmer ).
I had some contacts back at SCEE who left in 2008, and in 2009-2010 the site was shut down without the archive being posted.
So now I am requesting SCEE and the new CEO to post the archive.
PSX-Scene-Thread and source about the petition --> http://psx-scene.com/forums/f167/ple...-2-site-89314/ (Please Sign this Petition for archive of Linux for Playstation 2 site)
Site of the petition --> Release of archive of Linux for Playstation 2 site - Petition Spot
Official PS2-Linux-Website (now partially back online) --> PlayStation2-Linux.com
What do you all think? Is that o.k.?
If evilgeek23 and the others of the site-team think that it is o.k., I'll post it into MemberNews and one of the admins will move it to front-page.
@evilgeek23: Well,... It is somewhat hard to verify all the info you gave me.
How could I?
@others: If you have a better idea for a news-post, just post it here.
I would 'pinpoint' some of your PM-Info a bit more, if I could verify all of it.
The way the news-dummy/prototype is written as of yet is because of it beeing hard to verify and that way, it is just a 'cut-out' with some info from your PM, but still pointing to the useful info, a.k.a. the new petition.
If I could verify all your info, I would write something up like: 'Former Sony-Linux-Creator for PS2 starts petition to release the PS2-Linux-Packages and Website-Archives!'.
Sounds even better in my opinion.
Well I am amazed that PlayStation2-Linux.com started to work--I could not believe it, of course it shows only one picture of penguin but still I think that it is already something.
TnA I like "Post" you created. I also think that line---'Former Sony-Linux-Creator for PS2 starts petition to release the PS2-Linux-Packages and Website-Archives!' ---would look much more better and would attract more peoples attention to post-------- evilgeek23 please help TnA to be sure that info you submitted in your PM is real.
Actually I am not very creative person and not sure how properly such posts must be written-----But I am sure 100% that we have to add to the post something like this:
Visitors of PSX-Scene and everyone who believes that Linux for PS2 is important--------community needs your help.
Only publishing of petition made possible operation of PlayStation2-Linux.com.
We can do more together.
In order "Petition would gain legal power"-----we need 10000 votes. Do not hesitate and help community return back PlayStation2-Linux.com.
@all What do you think about it?

t-1000 agrees with skynet! Now, we just need a picture! How about your sig?!?!? or this,![]()
