I was wondering, since I would like to try PS2 linux out, if there is a possibility of me using my USB wireless network card to connect to my router with a PS2 linux distro.
I don't have a Network Adapter HD expansion since they seem really hard to come by where I live.

Let's move on to an easy way to set up a wireless network. When I decided to go online, I knew that I didn't want 100' of CAT5e cable running through my house. First, you're going to need a wireless router. I purchased the Linksys BEFW11S4 and I've had no problems at all. It was very easy to connect the 2 desktop computers and the PS2. The BEFW11S4 uses the 802.11b wireless standard. (If you don't know what this means, that's ok....just make sure you purchase a wireless ethernet bridge with the same standard, but I'll get to that).
Secondly, you'll need the above mentioned wireless ethernet bridge. I used the Linksys WET11 and the bandwith is superb. (It also uses the 802.11b wireless standard, so it'll work just fine with the BEFW11S4.) Some people knock it in their online reviews, but for online gaming it is more than adequate. There's NO WAY you'll need anymore bandwith playing online than what the WET11 offers. Basically, this little devil plugs into the wall by your PS2. You then run some network cabling (CAT5e) from the WET11 to your PS2 and BAM, you're almost there.
Almost there...you'll have to add the WET11 to your home network, but it's also quite simple installation. The BEFW11S4 will auto-detect the WET11 if it's powered up. Then all you have to do is run through the rather brainless ISP (Internet Service Provider) setup.
TAA-DAA....you're done! Now go pickup Madden 2003, or SOCOM and get playing!

Actually the description you posted is of a wireless bridge configuration, something which I have personally used to connect to an official PS2 network adapter, and also connects wire-lessly (network bridge) to another router in my house. This is like having a wireless adapter on the PS2, but it IS NOT a USB wireless adapter, nor will a USB wireless adapter work (there is no driver for this in homebrew or PS2-Linux).
In conclusion - USB wireless adapter DOES NOT work, wireless bridge with official PS2 Network adapter (or imbedded network adapter in Slim PS2) DOES work.
Linux 2.6 is able to handle USB WLAN sticks, but it is currently in development. You will need to compile the required modules. This can become very difficult. My released test versions don't include this. I believe that I am the only one who tried WLAN. The USB DVD drive should also work.
What use would it be playing over the 1.0 usb port

Not much in my opinion because it is max. theoretical 12 megabits/second, but with Linux it is good to know that it is available if someone doesn't need high bandwidth for whatever project they are trying to accomplish with PS2-Linux 2.6. Once Mega Man's new PS2-Linux 2.6 sound drivers are working, I'll reinstall to a blank hard drive and see if I can replace the features in the current PS2-Linux. I have an old USB wireless dongle which I will try at that time to see just how slow it really is.

I have a TP Link TL-WN822N based on Atheros AR9170 chipset...
It supposedly works out off box in linux..
It wont work on 2.4 or 2.6????
I wanted to give some use to the ps2 to repeat the wifi signal... wifi usb signal -> ethernet bridge-> router wifi

The USB wireless adapter won't work in 2.4. It might work in 2.6, but there hasn't been much testing so far of these things, so you would be the first tester ;-)
I connect my PS2 with a CAT-5 cable to a wireless bridge, which wirelessly connects to my internet-connected router. It works fine. Not quite as fast as network cable directly connected to the internet router, but fast enough.
I have tried, but the 2.6 kernel seems to lack the "ath9k_htc" module...
EDIT:I'm trying to compile the driver from here http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Do...and_installing
but i get a error something like "/lib/modules/2.6.35.4/build not found" and make stops...
I think i need the kernel header but i cant find them!
Any help?
