How do I get a GUI on my ps2? I currently have blackrhino installed. User Barf mention something about gaim. Well I browsed the playstation2-linux site and I found a precompiled gaim for ps2linux. Well how do I go about installing this?

gaim is an instant messenger program that is separate from the GUI, which is X-Windows plus a windows manager, in your case the windows manager I think is wmaker. The gaim on the website you noted, download the .tgz package into /tmp. "cd /tmp/packagenameforgaim;su;make install"

I haven't installed gaim, so I don't know if this will work, refer to the info on the playstation2-linux.com site for more info.

@ Shinji Elric - how many threads regarding one topic do you need to create? The rule is you only need one per problem/topic. tomorrow, I plan on sifting through the tons of cross posting you've done, and come up with a single coherent topic.

i tried this it said no such directory or file
