First, these moments that I started tinkering with the ps2linux, it was really hard to get run by the SMB. difficulties had to edit some files, but once I got used, it is extremely important that the file is edited correctly init_smb.
and also my SMB only worked after releasing the permissions for NETWORK and ALL in Windows 7.

At the moment I am using a PC with two network cards shared on the bridge,
where one is connected to the Internet and the other is connected to the ps2. But I also have used a router. And with both options work well for both OPL, SMS, etc and ps2linux.

Yes, as I use the Windows 7 for the SMB sharing after I advanced, must add up and said releasing the permissions for users (all and network) to the shared folder, besides having to configure the files correctly. it took me to discover.

some errors occur shortly after launch kernelloader as "sbios_rpc................. result =- 1"
never finds the file "resolv.conf" but runs smoothly anyway.
also the system hangs when I try to compile and install mplayer was just what I tried because I have not had time to test others.

the interressante I just need init_smb, hosts, resolv it does not accomplish anything because I already set up manually after the graphical user interface (/ etc / resolv.conf)
an example of my hosts file, and resolv init_smb patterns, left attached.
But we also have tested the ride on my ubuntu ps2linux_loop real and modify the necessary files:
    /etc/hosts
    /etc/resolv.conf
    /etc/network/interfaces
    and functioned normally.

How far is yes. my keyboard is well bum but it works. the weird is that it just does not work in Ulanchelf and Kernelloader, but in other programs, BlackRhino, and even games it works fine.

No. happens those errors that I described in last post.

10.Can you describe the whole process of loading Linux Tool Kit from start to the Desktop ? Like all your actions--what did you do?
I can not get to desktop Linux tool kit.
regarding BlackRhino, my swap area only really works when manually ride, then the system runs well.
then I'll send you a picture of where the process freezes when I try to run linux tool kit.

Thank you mrcordas. I made a mistake in my loop file on nuclearfall. The swap is not configured
correctly. To configure correctly boot off of my SMB Blackrhino distro, then "su" and enter
    the root password. "cd /;dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1024 count=65536;mkswap /swapfile"
Then use vi to edit /etc/fstab and change /dev/loop1 to /swapfile on the second line. Shutdown and
restart ps2-linux and it should allow running with swap working. I am writing this on a
v15 PS2 while listening to kinkfm using dillo so I know it has improved things for SMB PS2-Linux.

    beauty, that's it.
I do give you kudos for this achievement.
Before trying to install mplayer and crashed at the beginning. Now the process runs fine but gives error when installing something like libcdvdcss and another.

Is to install flashplayer (for videos on the internet) or some other video player to take ps2linux?
or is more heavy for ps2? since the operating system already uses a lot of memory to processes.

I tried to install gnash for Flash but failed, it has some tough dependencies which did not modify easily to compile on our old gcc compilers (2.95 and 3.03). I'll do some more testing with the smb ps2-linux to see if I can crash it. I don't think I'm able to get gnash working at the moment so I don't know if it would be too heavy for the ps2.

Right now, I'm wanting to setup mplayer again to see if I get an error like yours.

I had to do all sorts of tricks to compile mplayer. Here's the final result which does work on SMB PS2-Linux (used it yesterday with youtube videos). I only saw one stutter in each video (brief) so it is very useable. However, the SMB PS2-Linux has slower (over the network) swap than the hdd version so I got the best results by running only one thing at a time. I had to kill dillo as part of my youtube script before running mplayer to free some memory (killall dillo).

mplayer-1.0rc2-ps2-sdl-only.tar.bz2 you can extract in /home/adent as the base directory, and install with "su", "make install" in the extracted mplayer directory.

4shared - My 4shared - shared folder - free file sharing and storage

You will also need the three youtube-related scripts from the above 4shared to overwrite the old versions in /usr/local/bin, and you may want to add the "killall dillo" line after the xclip -o line in the youtube script.

    Thanks. now it worked.
I was starting configuration (. / configure) as usually done. but it was enough just make install.
    the audio is perfect.
but some video that I've tested so far (. avi and. mpg) with the highest resolution crash a lot.
but will continue to do some tests.

”Use it, Improve it and Pass it on to others”
    - i remember i said "use it". But "improve" and "pass" and "to the others"?!.

However. It just was test cause nothing to do. That time i was happy from deba5er method of smb-loading. Actually, i was wonder that Linux Kit is working with vmlinux_fat_and_slim_v4 which is 2.4 kernel.

And i see that there are enthusiasts of in using it. Even in compiling! Slow compiling.

Did one know how to compiling faster? - with the distcc (PS2Linux native compiling using distcc). Distcc uses cross-compiler through cross-cable. Of course patient tester has note that he can't compiling with PS2Linux smb loaded. So the way of compiling - USB loaded (NO WAY!!!) or HDD loaded.

We need a guy who have PS2Linux Kit installed to hdd. Then someone will politely asking him for compiling something with the mipsEEel-toolchain.

BTW, deba5er, can you please download picodrive and modify it? It can be compiled for dingoo-linux... Maybe and for ps2linux?)

Unfortunately it hangs up the PS2 when compiling famec.c. I tried with standard -O3, then with -O2. gcc 3.0.3. I tried 10 times, restarting from power-off each time. It is unusual in that instead of an error, it just hangs the PS2. I can't remember the last time this happened. Sorry. It otherwise looked like it was compiling fine (had to remove the march= and mtune flags from Makefile).
