The vncviewer seems to work stable on a plain slim which means that you don't need a hard disc or other storage devices. The sound was not redirected to the console. In don't know if this could work.
Firefox needs additional storage to work which could fail on a slim v14 and higher. Dillo is working, but as you can see it is limited. Youtube videos will play until the memory is full or you risk loosing data on your USB memory stick.
If you have a slim v12/v13 all features will work stable.
@archicharmer: Is the image bootable? It doesn't start. There is only cryptic text. Maybe with the correct charset it is cyrillic.
I never heard about copyright problem... What some files can't be upload on some sites because copyrights. No one crying what Win3.11 belongs to me, or PS2Linux LiveDVD's creator or psx-scene. We just use it, not more.
Mega Man, no one symbol in cyrillic! You was in time to download it, yeah?) I think, Windows3.1 wasn't bootable that time at all.
So, in dosbox i do:
imgmount C C:\Win\504mb.img -size 512,63,16,504 -t hdd -fs fat
- all these commands can be write in dosbox.conf
And same in bochs. Do not force me to install bochs!
Also, please try http://www.emuunlim.com/sneese/files.html
Windows 3.11 doesn't work with FreeDOS 1.1.
Doesn't work... you enter "win" and it just not loads?
So, this bochs for ps2linux is worse than dosbox for ps2linux? I did a try to launch Windows98 on ps2linux's dosbox. I don't remember a time for it loading... only what on pocket PC it faster.
Try to launch emulators without windows.
And, if it not hard, please, upload somewhere loop-file or archive with your pre-release for me. I can do all test with DOS what i think.
The incompatibility is caused by FreeDOS and not by Bochs.
Holy crow, It has been so long since I have been here and to hear that a new live dvd is going to be introduced. I am in shock to hear that eyetoy will be accepted and that the youtube scripting has been updated. Thanks to all who have great knowledge in the PS2 development field. This truly is incredible.
Nice work guys. Kind regards.
Ugh... this bochs...
Even on PC i can't find needed configuration to enable sound, to launch nesticle and to adapt speed of emulation!
I did run Windows3.1 on it. So, i was must to create (or to download :)) bootable diskette image with anything what can pass boot loading. And just enter:
Welcome to the all new AllBootDisks | AllBootDisks - Providing Free Boot Disks from MS-DOS to Windows XP.
ata0-master: type=disk, mode=flat, translation=auto, path="C:\Win\504mb.img", cylinders=1024, heads=16, spt=63, biosdetect=auto, model="Generic 1234"
floppya: type=1_44, 1_44="C:\Win\Dos6.22.img", status=inserted, write_protected=0
You need to prove, that bochs is "UGH!!!" And to compile newest dosbox:)
Or to try adapt speed of emulation and to enable sound. My opinion - better to not include bochs on ps2linux LiveDVD.
Bochs is now on the Live DVD and will stay there. The people will cry if I remove anything. I don't see any need in updating dosbox.
is it possible to use the python mp3 server EDNA (edna_sourceforge_net) with the PS2 Linux? Would be a nice feature to have a mp3 server ps2 in the house. For bochs perhaps someone will try kolibrios (kolibrios_org/en/). Its a tiny assembler os which could be included into the Live DVD.
Great work so far!
EDNA will not be on the Live DVD. It took several days to upload the disc images. The downloads will be available in 35 minutes.
