Would Like to Get Into PS2 Translation
Would Like to Get Into PS2 Translation –

I would really like to get into PS2 translation. I can do nintendo, snes, etc. translations fine. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out about the FFXII:ZJS translation ffgriever has done.
I noticed that ffgriever was able to change the font in FFXII. Where would you find the font and how would you extract it?
Other than looking through the actual ISO file for the text, is there a specific file I should be looking in? I looked through all of the files that are on the disc and I couldn't find text anywhere. I know the text isn't in ASCII, I searched using offsets.
If anybody could help me out with these two problems I would be very grateful.

Font in FF12 is compressed, encrypted, raw and even in bitmap form it's extremly o.v.e.r.f.u.c.k.e.d. (too many sake during development, for sure) ;D Also FF12 is one of these games without files writed into TOC (of course excluding CNF+ELF). This is a bad example to start hacking PS2 games.

Actually, FF12 fonts are not encrypted. Just compressed.
@Xyphox
What do you need the fonts for?

Ok, atheromatosis.
But still they are compressed, raw, and complicated.
I think he ask about FF12 as an example to starting editing PS2 games.

So better idea is start from much easy game, with native formats.
Don't search txt in Japanese games in ASCII, they are encoded S-JIS.
