Same problem with NFS: Carbon & NFS: Most Wanted!

my friend gave me a soft modded (free mcboot) PS2 slim SCPH-750004. i burnt 4 games including NFS: Carbon & NFS: Most Wanted - Black Edition. all games worked except these 2.

i have burnt them using DvD Decrypter at 4x speed using Verbatim DvD+R.

So, here's the problem. Both of these games works perfectly, including cinematics etc. but when the menu appears "Press Start Button" it doesn't work. i press start but nothing happens. does anyone know why ? sry for my bad english.

Check your controller, image file of the game and try burning again at your slowest speed!
