I'm not sure if this game is compatible, but I think that this is not the problem.

If the laser wasn't changed, I think it is a KHS-400c, which could be a problem...
I've searched around a little bit to see if I could find an answer but haven't yet, so I decided to make a topic about it.
The new DVD burner is a DVD BURN LG|GH22NP20 22X
The media is a new 100 pack of DVD+R VERBATIM|95098 16X
My PS2 is a SCPH-39001 with an Open Face Sanyo Laser, as far as I can tell.
Thanks for any help.
But I think the main-problem is, that your PS2-Version (under V9/SCPH-500xx) doesn't like DVD+Rs ('PLUS'-Type).
Try DVD-R ('MINUS'-Type) instead, or Booktype your DVD+Rs to 'DVD-ROM'.
Additionally,... Don't believe in the myth of burning as slow as your burner&disc allows. Your combo probably works best with 12x-Speed, or try the Auto-Speed-Setting of your burning-programm (in IMG-Burn, it is also called 'AWS').
Btw.: What happens, if you insert the discs while you're in PS2-Browser?
