The other day I made backups of a few of my games and then they played with no problems. I go to play them today and all four just go to a pink screen and don't load. What could the problem be? And why did they work before but not now?

Could you provide us with more details about your console, homebrew application and device you're using to boot your games.
Yeah, sorry. I'm on a Slim, latest versions of Free McBoot/uLe/ESR. I use ImgBurn to rip my games, patched then reburn with ImgBurn.
See, the type of DVD's are what I think is the problem. They're some cheap Sony brand DVD's I bought in a store. But why would they work just fine and then not work?
EDIT: And now they're all working just fine, lol. I don't get it.
Well the brand of DVD's could be the problem.
But what Version of PS2 are you using?
And how long have you been using backed up'd games on that console?
If you have been using cheap media on it, your laser could be going out...

The Slim I have is the most current one; version 19, I think? I've only recently started using backup games on it so the system hasn't run them much. Would better media like Verbatim not wear the laser out like lower quality would?
EDIT: It's 90001
Alright, that's what I'll do. I originally planned on using it to begin with but I didn't have any problems with the blank DVD's I already had so I figured I'd use those up first.
So I bought some Taiyo Yuden DVD's and I'm still having the same problem. But I noticed on the top left of the screen a lot of time it says "Video DVD" and it takes a few tries for it to say "ESR Off" (I'm pretty sure it said Off, I do know it said ESR) and then it finally works. I have no idea what the problem is.
EDIT: I double checked and a lot of time it says "Stop Disc = Video DVD" but it takes a few tries for it to say "Stop Disc = ESR DVD (off)"
EDIT 2: I guess I should add that when I was using those cheaper Sony DVD's it would take almost a dozen tries before I got it working, now with these Taiyo's it took 3 or 4 tries before it started working. But what's weird is once I get it working I have no problem playing all the backups I made. And if I take a long break from it, I start to have the trouble again and have to keep at it until it loads properly.
