Play backup ? –
09-14-2008,08:43 PM
I burned a PS2 game (FF7
oC) on a blank DVD, and I tried to play it on my PS2 but it didn't work at all. What I did was to put it in PS2 and then launch ESR. Nothing.
I burned it at 4x speed.
I used the MC exploit (Free MC boot) on a fat PS2. The exploit worked fine, but apart from playing this back up. Btw this is the first back up I've ever done, so I'm pretty sure that whatever I did was wrong.
So What did I do wrong ? Do I need to patch it or something ?
Thanks in advance.

You have to patch the iso of the game with ESR Patcher before you burn the game!

Hmm, someone told me to patch the ISO with Toxic DL patcher first and then ESR patcher. But I don't have Toxic mod chip installed in my PS2, I only used the MCFREEBOOT exploit ...
So I just need to patch the ISO with ESR Patcher before burning it, is that all?
EDIT - my CD/DVD burner doesn't have a booktype bitsetting utility supported. Will I be okay?

The Toxic DL patcher has nothing to do with the ToxicOS modchip firmware.
It is just an independent program developed by the 'Toxic' team to help in making DL backups.
(Btw: There is no Toxic mod chip. The ToxicOS firmware is only used with the DMS4pro chip)

Just to make things clear
When you're going to boot games with ESR you will always have to patch it with ESR patcher.
If it's a DL (dual layer) game you will have to patch it with Toxic DL patcher first and then with the ESR patcher.
