Backed up my Prince Of Persia Two Thrones...blah blah blah.

Patched the ISO with the ESR Patcher GUI 24a...put it in ps2..go to ESR...Launch CDVD and nothing but a black screen...

    Using Memorex DVD-R...4x speed.

Found that it would work through consoleexploits website, but I tried and it didnt? Am I doing something wrong with the patcher? I dragged the Iso to the interface and selected patch, but it didnt say it was patched until I tried to patch it again than it said its already patched. Idk

What is your console's model? Do you hear any odd sounds (Clicking, scrapping etc)?

I presume that you're using the last version of ESR that was publicly available.

Try discs of better quality (E.g. Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD-Rs). Some older consoles have problems reading Memorex discs.

Even if your console doesn't have issues reading Memorex discs... it may be actually wearing out your laser quicker than you think (Unless your console is a modern slimline without all the crap laser issues).

Its an scph- 900001 (8B) slim
yeah, probaby got to get some better disk.
The ESR i got came with the noobie package.

not really in a hurry, I just like knowing I can do stuff a majority of people
    cant or wont bother trying.

    *edit*

Spoke too soon, tried patching with the memento patcher "mementoFW_12e" and its successful.
I noticed that when I patched with ESR .24a (something along the lines) when I tried to view the files
before I copied to a DVD I couldnt view anything, but unpatched it showed files.

Using memento to patch it, than viewed the files with Isobuster I saw the files POP_TT_NTSC & DVDVIDEO.
I clicked on the DVDVIDEO Folder and inside it was the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. I had a feeling when I saw these files
it would work. So I burned the ISO, put it in my PS2 and it booted to ESR. I clicked Launch CDVD and it works fine. No slow
    vids or anything so far.

What those two patchers do is identical.
Memento and ESR need identically patched discs.

when I tried to view the files
before I copied to a DVD I couldnt view anything, but unpatched it showed files.
This can happen with tools that can't handle inconsistent content of two filesystems in the same ISO file, as the Memento/ESR patch hides the real content with a dummy UDF filesystem looking like an empty DVD-Video movie structure. So none of the game file are visible in it. But they are still present.

    Using memento to patch it,
That should make no difference at all. What does make a big difference though is that you mention using IsoBuster this time, as that is one of the few tools that can display multiple filesystems of a disc even when they have conflicting directory content (as in this case).

NB: If your ESR patcher and your Memento patcher do not produce fully identical results, then at least one of them is broken.

than viewed the files with Isobuster I saw the files POP_TT_NTSC & DVDVIDEO.
Those are neither files nor folders. They are the names of two filesystem roots.
One for the ISO filesystem and another for the UDF filesystem. IsoBuster just displays them similar to a folder structure, so as to make browsing a full ISO possible.

I clicked on the DVDVIDEO Folder and inside it was the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. I had a feeling when I saw these files

    Good.

But you should still doublecheck what is wrong with that ESR patcher, which I presume to be "ESRDiscPatcher.exe" from the package named "ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a".

I use it all the time and have used it for (literally) hundreds of perfectly working ESR backups, so there is absolutely no doubt about it working. So if yours does not then your copy must be broken somehow, possibly corrupted in transfer or unpacking.

    Best regards: dlanor
