I recently "acquired" an ISO of NBA 2K9 for PS2 and patched it using ESR DiscPatcher and used Nero to burn it onto a Maxell 4.7GB DVD-R at 2x speed. When I put it in my PS2, the ESR application ran smoothly and it detected a PS2 DVD in drive, as usual. But after that, a long black screen follows and there are no color changes that are supposed to happen. I have used these Maxell DVDs before and I have been playing a lot of different games on my PS2 using these utilities. I have tested my ESR software with NFS : UnderGround and it works perfectly but NBA 2K9 and Madden NFL 09 both give me a black screen (and nothing else) after I choose to run the DVD. Do I have to maybe update the software? Can you please help me out in this matter?? Thank you very much.

Most likely the ISO is not a good rip.
I can only suggest that you rip it yourself, "aquired" ISO's are not reliable, unless your the one who ripped the game, then perhaps you need a different app to rip your game off the disc.
