NTSC PS2 controller not registering buttons on PAL game
NTSC PS2 controller not registering buttons on PAL game –
I ripped, converted to NTSC, patched, and burned a PAL game to use on my NTSC console. ESR loads it fine, but the game wont register or recognize any buttons i pressed. I re-burned it without the NTSC conversion and it did the same thing. Did I miss a setting in ESR or did I just do a bad rip? For ref, i have a slim NTSC North America model.
What's the game (exactly, title + SLES number)? I've never experienced PAD problems with ESR, but it's possible (just as virtually anything, considering the way it works ).
Gregory Horror Show, SLES-51933, wont let me get past the first Language select menu
I've since re-burned it a few times with differing Patch tools and NTSC conversion tools but still no avail. Any ideas or is this one game that just wont work?
Update: This is very weird. The original model I tried was SCPH-77001 (slim), and it only brought me to the language select screen minus any screen rolling (PAL game). I then tried it on a SCPH-70012 model (slim). Same thing except the screen did roll in B&W. Then for kicks I tried it out on my family's older SCPH-39001 (fat), and unbelievably it works. I'm thinking it has to do with how the console models each read discs a little differently. I don't know if this is accurate, but it now registers when I hit the X button that language select screen. While it seems does skip & stutter during the FMV sequences, it is playable.
