So I wanted to add a dummy file to a DVD disc so that it would put less ware and tear on my DVD drive. But after I made the new ISO, when I applied the ESR patch (with the esr patcher) I got the message "No UDF Desc!". Does anyone know what it is or how to fix it?

It means that your method of rebuilding the disc content is not valid for PS2 game DVD discs.

Most likely you made a disc that only contains an ISO9660 filesystem, and in any case definitely lacks the UDF filesystem which is required for all PS2 game DVD discs and is used for the ESR patch. That patch makes the UDF filesystem resemble a DVD-Video disc (for which UDF is also mandatory) and that is what allows the ESR method to work.
