Ok, I changed my pc's ip address to 192.168.0.1 to match the subnet mask but still nothing shows up. Maybe I'm not sharing the folder properly?

The share must be what you have in OPL as user and password and if everyone no pass the share has to reflect that

Is how all good gaming systems came to beWait I'm sorry can you explain? I have no password on the folder as far as I'm aware...

Is how all good gaming systems came to belet the name as is and try to don´t use different folder-names. So if your folder-name is PS2Games, let it in share-name so too....Originally Posted by kraxyk
But use uppercase. So it must be PS2GAMES and not PS2Games !!
Then in PS2 in share you write PS2GAMES....
Ok, you changed your PC-IP, but what "Gateway" has your PC?I have changed my network settings so that my computer has an ip address of 192 . 168 . 0 . 2 and subnet mask of 255 . 255 . 255 . 0 . On the ps2 side, I have opl 0 . 8 . elf which is loaded using ulaunchelf. The settings for the ps2 are as follows, IP adress of 192 . 168 . 0 . 10 , subnet mask of 255 . 255 . 255 . 0 and gateway of 192 . 168 . 0 . 1 .
And in PS2 you forgot the PC-IP-side ! ! !
So i give you an example how it must shows (without router) and you can take other numbers in the last IP-number....
PC-side:
IP: 192.168.0.2
MASK: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.2
PS2-side:
-PS2-
IP: 192.168.0.10
MASK: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.2
-PC-
IP: 192.168.0.2
PORT: 445
SHARE: PS2GAMES
USER: GUEST
PASS: <empty>
Yea it is possible to have bad rips that I have before and you can order verbatim DVD on line
Sony DVD are good but heavy and slows the rotation speed of player when I have tried them so that may be the problem
You could try re ripping and another Sony DVD it could be a bad rip but the the thinness of the ones I burned slowed it down and caused skipping and
sometimes not to load at all.
Ok well I'm beyond frustrated. I have my settings set up exactly the same and it still doesn't show up...I am supposed to change ipv4 right?
Yes.I am supposed to change ipv4 right?
Try to let the "Gateway" empty in PC-side....
If you have Win 7 read this tut (go down to "Windows 7 – Crossover Cable Setup" point "4"...)...
[How To] Boot Games Off Network (SMB) With Playstation 2 (PS2) Using OpenPS2Loader (A Novice Guide) « Welcome to the Underground.
Okay sorry for late reply. Okay I've done everything correctly. I tried ripping two of my games. The first is american idol, I used dvd decrypter and renamed the iso to SLUS_208 . 16 . AmericanIdol. I then ripped 007 Agent Under Fire and renamed the iso to SLUS_202 . 65 . 007AgentUnderFire. I have followed the tutorial for how to set up my connection and shared folder. I have a folder named PS2GAMES with share name PS2SMB. I load up opl and check all the network config to match the tutorial. I then click back and it pulls the network games page. But no matter what I do it never loads the list of games. Maybe it is a read only issue? Do I need to share the subfolders inside the PS2GAMES folder like the CD and DVD folders? Thank you for your help!
It might be problem with righta because VMC needs that to work properly and sub folder should inherit the main folders share property's so make it read rights
here is a help
