    Hello,

I have installed MCBoot (Newbie pack). I have burned a copy of 007. I first patched the iso file. I then burned the iso using dvd decrypter at 4x. I turned on my system bringing me to the MCBoot menu. I clicked ESR. ESR Loaded and I inserted my burned copy. It was unable to detect the type of media in the drive and when I tried to launch the game anyway I got a black screen. I then tried using the latest ESR elf. I launched the elf using ulaunchelf. But I still have the same problem. What am I doing wrong? Is it the way it was burned? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like either poor DVD media or your laser needs cleaned or going bad
but most likely if it plays official games it bad DVD media try verbatim DVD most people have the best luck with those

    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

Thank you for the quick reply. Where can I get the verbatim DVD? The stores around me don't sell them. Up to now I've been using Sony DVD. Also, to answer your question my ps2 does play regular games. Is it possible I just have a bad rip of the game and that is what is causing the problem?

Yea it is possible to have bad rips that I have before and you can order verbatim DVD on line
Sony DVD are good but heavy and slows the rotation speed of player when I have tried them so that may be the problem
You could try re ripping and another Sony DVD it could be a bad rip but the the thinness of the ones I burned slowed it down and caused skipping and
sometimes not to load at all.

Wow this is way more complicated than creating and playing backups on the Wii. So I have the wrong dvd's most likely.

Yea that is why I don't use DVD's anymore I use OPL to load games over SMB or internal HD

Oh OPL? Do mind educating me on what OPL, SMB is? If that is a better option I will do that. Or internal HD even.

Like I understand that it allows for loading of .iso files straight over usb. But, wouldn't that mean I would need to attach an external hd onto my ps2 through usb, which I assume would probably cause a decent amount of lag due to the fact that it is not usb 2.0?

Also, would burning a rip on a mac by any chance produce better results?

Well OPL can do USB but with crossover or router your can run isos over network from PC
and Internal requires either a Fat network adapter for internal hard drive or mod for some but not all slim
