I have a USB drive, a memory card with UlaunchELF & FMCB1.5 (installed), an original PSX trigger CD (for UlaunchELF).

I downloaded ESR Beta R9 and ESR Patch Java 0.2.

So what do I do from here? Do I have to rename certain files and create certain folders before putting them onto my mem card?

    thanks in advance.

Patch your game, burn it. Then use uLaunchElf to execute ESR. Simple as that.

    ... i don't think so.

first of all, you didn't even tell me where to put the ESR files onto.. It's still on my computer. and second, UlaunchELF requires a trigger PSX disc.. so if I have to use UlaunchELF, then that's like swapping...

You wrote you have FMCB installed?

Then why does uLE require you to use trigger disc... heck, why does it require any disc at all? Just use FMCB to launch uLE and ESR from uLE... or rename ESR to BOOT1/2/3/4 and launch it with proper keys... or rename it to anything you want and edit configuration file.

Well, when I installed FMCB, it didn't really do anything lol. All it did was put a "Launch Free MCBoot" option in my PS2's browser menu.. but when I select that option, the PS2 just turns black.. then resets, and I end up back at the browser menu..

Am I supposed to change a file's name to BOOT.ELF?? cuz I think that could be the problem..

    It's quite simple.

copy esr to a usb stick

    boot FMCB to uLE.

set up a short cut in uLE

    boot esr using short cut.

    enjoy.

i'm ready for my pulitzer prize now

If you used a USB stick to install, simply put a BOOT/BOOT.ELF on it and leave the USB stick in afterwards, restart the console and uLE will boot.

ow just use ULE to copy that BOOT.ELF from the USB to the MC's BOOT folder. Now it will always boot to uLE on startup, until you cange it.

And yes it is in the readme {useage.txt} it plainly says all you will get is an Empty BOOT folder unless you have a BOOT.ELF or DVDelf.BIN with the installer. Had you put a BOOT.ELF along with the installer, it would have copied it to the MC's BOOT folder during the install.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded
