Hello everyone ^^ nice to meet you
I hope someone can help me ^^; but before anything, I want to say:

I'm Italian, and my english will be bad. So please try to forgive me and try to use simple english ^^;; (i mean, dont use slang etc please or will be very hard for me to understand)

    Ok, so:

    1) I have a PAL PS2 FAT 30004 (I think it should be V4 but i'm not sure)
    2) To install FMCB I used Swap Magic 3.6
    3) I used FMCB 1.8 with ESR 9b. I install it on sony memory card (original) and even tried with another one (original)
    4) I want to use ESR because i'm bored of swap with SwapMagic for NTSC games and backups
    5) I tried Hack//GU NTSC, DMC3 PAL, Shadow Hearts: Covenant PAL
    6) I own original games and I did the .iso with IMGBURN
    7) I patched the .iso with ESR patch gui
    8) I burn them on Vertebatim DVD-R. They are DVD5, not DVD9

    When I start my ps2, i get FMCB menù. Then I open the DVD thing and instert the backup DVD. I wait but nothing happen ^^;
    So I select "ESR" from menù and press "X" button. At this point I see "ESR" white word in the screen and after 2-3 seconds I get Black screen and nothing happen ;;

I tried both 3 games, and lost 10 DVD (3 of them were Sony) but still dont work.
Then I tried to run the same backups with Swap Magic 3.6 and they work! All of them work with Swap Magic 3.6 with no problem at all!

Why this happen? I think because I did something wrong?
Maybe my PS2 is too old? (I have it from very long time, never broken, she always did her job)

EDIT: Oh, I just tried to boot the Original Hack//GU with ESR and it dont work. But with Swap Magic 3.6 work.. maybe because hack gu is NTSC and my ps2 is PAL?

Funny thing: why does SwapMagic boots ESR-enabled games?

I think you haven't patched the ISO properly. Please boot your PS2 without FMCB, goto "Browser" and insert your burned copy. Does your PS2 recognize it as "DVD Video" disc?

If Yes, I don't know whats the problem. If No, you ESR-Patch hasn't worked.
Try to delete the *.mds file which ImgBurn creates along with the ISO, patch the ISO and burn it.
    Slim PS2 SCPH-70004 (v13) w/ FMCB, 3x Sony 8MB, 1x MaxMemory 16MB (Backup card)

I'm not available for FMCB installation service until I can guarantee a processing time of a few days again, sorry.

Mabe you have patched the wrong file ? Don't try to patch an .mds !

.iso files and .mdf are patchable any other files won't work even if the patchers says it has been patched.

No no, I patch the only .ISO file that i get

And it say "Patching process finished successfuly"

If I try to patch again it say "File already patched!"

I even did a screen of how is .ISO before patch
And another of how is .ISO after patch

Seems nothing changed, is it normal?
Maybe I need to do something before patch?
I Just download "ESR Disk patcher" and use it.. do I need to do something first?

    Memeto dont work.

Is there a way to manual patch?

I think I will become crazy

Swap Magic were designed to fool the mechacon by giving the info that a high toc disc is inserted. Then you swap that with whatever dvd disc and it will boot it when an proper system.cnf is found which points to an valid .elf

ESR just does the same with other method.

    @ Yoite :

By looking the image after burning with windows explorer you can't verify if the patch is done or not because windows ignore the udf file system which the patch apply to the image.

    You have to get Isobuster.

Open the image with isobuster and look if there are 2 filesystem. One is ISO and one is UDF

I doubt that it will be something with your OS.

Get rid of the image and copy it fresh to your hdd. Patch it. Check with IsoBuster.

Maybe something went wrong so try again.
