I didn't wanna hijack the other tread about this game, as it was someone else issue. So I made my own topic for it. Its not that bad of an issue really. Its just that when it goes to the scenes with the chars, it stutters every now and then. Only game I've gotten that does that so far. I copied it from a disc a friend has of the game. Maybe his disc is scratched? Or maybe its the PS2 laser? I AM using an old fat PS2. I can go out and buy a new one if need be, in the form of a slim PS2. What do you suggest?

Well I was running .hack // G.U. Vol. 1: Rebirth on esr v0.8a and everything was running fine but when i switched over to esr 0.9 the game started to lag for some reason, when i switched back v0.8a everything was running smooth again.

    THANKs in ADVANCE
This person was having troubles with the game lagging. I'll check the replies to this post.

I think I know what's the problem (hehe, new streaming method or error handling), but I don't have this game at all, and I need exact version before I'll be able to do anything about it.

Things like this may happen if you're changing basic methods used for such important part like streams are...

Oh, and what do you mean by "lagging"? Does the sound skip? Game works slower? Is there some delay in response for actions?
by lagging i mean that the game slows down (slow motion) the music stops playing for quite a while and the game also freezes for a about minute from time to time.
    Thanks In ADVANCE
Could you test the game again with both? I've just got .hack // G.U. Vol.1: Rebirth (SLUS_212.58) and it works just fine here... To be true, I even went further on this one with checking, and it doesn't use any part of the code that changed between r8a and r9. It also needs just a simple patch because it uses IOPRP300... So, summing it up, there should be no differences for this game between r8a and r9... Maybe the laser is dying on you?
And he never posted anything back..... Possibly you could try r8a?

Yeah, I saw that post. I just couldn't find the old version it was mentioning. Probably something thats really obvious I'm missing, but I dunno. Just couldn't find it. I'll try searching again.

Actually.. I don't even know how to add apps to the free mcboot menu. Hurhurdur...

Edit - Fiddled around with it. Got the old ESR added to the menu along with the new one. However, the old ESR did not fix the issue. There is still minor stuttering. I'm thinking its the combination of it being an older model PS2 and having a meh laser. Although, the laser does seem to be in good form. Loads exceptionally fast when loading up normal PS2 games, unlike my old PS2 fat which sat there at Browser and System config for decades before it started the game. Iuno. I was thinking of buying a PS2 slim. Then I thought "Its stupid to go out and buy a new PS2 because there is minor stuttering on videos in 1 game."
