FMCB+ESR problem –
hi everybody, i've installed fmcb noobie package but when i run ESR it shows a white and gray screen with several options and it doesnt run the disc. What im doing wrong?
Thank you in advace..
did followed the guides how to use ESR ?
Where is the Guide to use it? i have seen it yet.. but i've read that the last version of ESR would run automatically when you insert a disc.
nope its not like you think :
Short tutorial for games:
1. Put your original game in drive and make image of it.
2. Patch it.
3. Burn it.
4. Put it in your PS2 and launch ESR (direct DVD version).
5. That's it!
and here is the original link :
http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58441 (ESR - public beta)
use a good quality of Media and burn at mid speed .
btw : i moved your thread to ESR forum
The white and grey screen you are talking about is Ule (ULaunch).
As Amp2006 said, did you follow the tutorials?
What you are going to have to do is :
Go into the FMCB configurator
Go down to Configure OSDSYS options
Go down and change ( Skip Disc Boot : on/off) change it to off
Go down to return, and the go down to
Save CNF to MC0
Save CNF to MC1
And save it to the MC slot your MC with FMCB is in.
Now when you put in a ESR Gui patched game, it should AUTO load.
ok so the problem was that i didnt use the ESR direct dvd version? if it is how do i replace the one that i already installed?
Edit to answer djflexmaster79:
its already off...
I assume then that the 'white and grey' program you mentioned earlier was in fact the GUI version of ESR, which requires some manual commands to decide how to launch an ESR patched disc. That version is the one normally used for the 'noobie' FMCB install package. It does have some good features, but normally I use the elf version that directly starts a game without any manual commands. (The GUI version can be launched by other means for those few cases where its special abilities are needed.)

So you should go to the first post of the thread entitled "Sticky: ESR - public beta" and download the file named "ESR beta r9b.rar". Then you unpack this and take the file "ESR beta r9b dvdv direct.elf" and rename this to ESR.ELF and put it on a USB stick. Then you put that stick into your PS2 and use the uLE FileManager to copy that file into the folder "mc0:/BOOT/", where it will then replace your old ESR file (the GUI version).
With this correctly done the game should start as you wanted to the next time you boot it.

ok, thank you all for your quickly response!
I believe he is referring to this: ESR Silver Screen
