FMCB+ESR and PAL games on NTSC consoles
FMCB+ESR and PAL games on NTSC consoles –
Hey guys, just a quick question. I currently own ICO and Shadow of the Colossus for the PS2 (amazing games, by the way), but I've always been a tinge jealous that the PAL version of ICO came with a bunch of extras that the US NTSC version did not have due to being released earlier. My question is: can I run PAL games on an NTSC console using FMCB+ESR or will the NTSC/PAL scanline differences cause problems? If so, I might pick up the PAL version of ICO and a few other PAL games on Ebay. Thanks for the help!
Edit: Also own a Samsung T220HD (22") HDTV/Monitor--don't know if that does anything ;o
AS long as your monitor/tv setup supports PAL you'll have no problems running dumped/patched/burned PAL ESR backup
On non chipped consoles you can use video component cables or RGB, it will make no difference if the console is PAL or NTSC. PAL games on my SCPH-10000 runs just fine with both RGB and video component.
Okay--so what exactly is the setup? I currently have component cables and an HDTV--do all US HDTV's support PAL resolutions?
Sorry to bump this--I recently just got the PAL version of ICO from Ebay and FMCB+ESR will not boot it up. My HDTV states that the "Signal is not compatible." Most likely my TV is not PAL compatible--I was wondering if there was any way to run the game otherwise?
