hmm, how big is the partition that you use for the patcher?
my wild guess would be that the patcher might fail when trying to expand the new zjs+eng iso file.
can you calculate md5 of the iso files you use? the files might be corrupted. also, did the older version of the patcher work for you?

Forgot you don't have any debugger. Just click the "click here" link and send everything you got there. Just click any advanced or whatever info you can get there.
And, actually, it crashes on type 1... In type one only location names are copied from external file, while all the others are copied from the original ZJS image.
There simply cannot be any issue here (fine, there is, but there should not be... this makes me believe it could not necessarily be the code itself). The original file copy code is very simple read chunk/write chunk until all file data is copied.
@yoshi
I'm using 1 and 1.5 TB drives myself. Depending on case, ntfs or ext4 formatted. Never had a single issue with that (regarding the patcher). It is possible to cause a problem here only if the sector/size table is screwed in either the zjs or us image. I can't think of anything else regarding type 1 data.

Please read all my post including the quote. I know ffgriever is focusing on a english/american/universal version first, of course and this one is faaaaaaaaaar away better to understand for any latine user (including me
) but I was quoting the images and theirs place inside the DVD.
Believe me : this is very weird to have 90% of the game in english although it comes from a French and a Japanese mix ! And of course, ffgriever has not translated all the game in english, think to his health...

Ok ! That's what I was thinking ! German and Spanich players meet the same things, do they ?

. And no, there is no chance 90% is english. All dialogs and cutscenes are french (except three locations). This alone makes 95% of the game to be in french. We're exaggerating a little bit, ain't we?
Nevermind, I don't post for a long time because... I've began a new run since the very first release (v0.15 is sooooooo good too!) thanks to you ! Very great pleasure to play !
(I just fear the translation word by word of all items and their descriptions (+100 - 200 ?), all bestiary (+400 foes x 3 average pages ?), all places... No complaining...

I "clicked here" and got this.

Clicked on view technical info and got a LOT of info that I can't really make heads or tails of and it won't let me copy it, here's a couple images of it if it helps.

There is only 1 partition on the drive 931mb plus windows has to steal it's chunk.

Yes I can.
Attached.

I guess... It's weird though. I would expect the images to be translated.... But it seems they're original english, while the translated ones are somewhere else.
So the dates, marquis halim ondore's memories, city names, esper names, hunt names, and other images are all english, right? Surprising...

Don't be afraid. Just a little bit will have to be translated into french (just the new items, names, descs, etc). All the original ones will be reused, so it won't be that much
.

Can't see the full info on the screens, but I at least can get the address. Could you open your images (zjs and the eng one) in hex editor, navigate to 0xba000 and post what you see there (first 512 will be fine)? Either the images are broken or there is some problem reading the files. It crashes at getting sector number from the table.
PS. Both your ZJS and US images have different md5 than mine, heck, even the size of ZJS image is different

Which hex editor would you recommend?
I've never had any use for one before.
Preferably freeware.

Weird.
The US Version is the first release (pre-order from gamestop) and the ZJS is the Ultimate Hits version if that helps any.

How do quickenings work on the license board in this game? When I click on a quickening in a character's license board it says something about "You can only learn this quickening tile with one character." But in IZJS all license boards are different. Is this message just a holdover from the US version, meaning I can safely give quickenings to characters I don't plan to use as much, or is quickening assignment actually also limited in IJZS?

if i remember correctly, some quickenings and summon tiles connect different license boards together in zjs. so one character can access more than one job board this way. but if another character starts with the same job - he won't be able to do the same thing.
basically, license board is way more complex than in ff12.

Now, there is a chance, that the item names got mixed for some reason (different order in zjs/non-zjs - though all items I checked to this time were fine). The only way is to launch the original japanese game and check if you're really trying to sell these items. If something is really wrong with the names, I will have to check closely all of them and compare with the japanese names.... But because there is a hell lot of items, I would like to know if it is really the problem.
Edit: You did sell beastlord *horn* right? Not beastlord *hide*? These are two separate items, so check twice. You should sell the *horns* to get Sagittarius A.
yes my friend checked the names from the original translation made at the site gamesfaq: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/939426/52032 even putting the Japanese version not worked selling the loot for acquisition of sagitarius
