you were right I tried it on my laptop and it worked, I've got a full iso now i dont know if it works on my modded ps2, i'll burn and test tommorow, got no dvds at the moment

    Thanx ffgriever

    Update:

so I tried running the game with PCSX2v0.9.6 and it doesn't work, I get past the PS2 logo and then my screen just goes black and stays black. I tried the ff12us iso and it works, I also tried the ff12zj and it doesn't work again i get the black screen. I did change the bios still no luck. My english ff12 is PAL and the Zodiac job system is NTSC, is that a problem??

get a different ff12izjs. it's either that or your ps2 can't play ntsc games. i'm not sure since my ps2 was hard modded before i soft modded it so either regions worked...

UPDATE: you can try with a US/NTSC FF12 also. just make sure you can play ntsc cuz im sure it uses the izjs region which is ntsc.

Having an issue with the patcher. Like the guy above me, I can't get it to patch. It gets to "Executing type_05" hangs there for a long time, then it closes and i end up with a 700ishMB iso file.

I read on this thread it might have something to do with my controller, disk, OS combination
So i tried it on a flash drive (as suggested) and it still doesn't work, i also tried it on my RAID. About the only thing i didn't try is attempting on another computer.

Just throwing in my two cents able the "Executing type_05" problem.

I had tried on 4 different computers, two using XP and two using Windows 7, all different hard drives/mobos etc. I tried using an external harddrive on each computer as well but I still only got the 700MB file. I tried putting the folder with the patcher/isos into the root directory but nothing worked.

I was using an Australian PAL version as the donor in all cases. It was only after I bit the bullet and found an American NTSC version to use as the donor that it worked, and worked on every single computer/hard drive combination that it had previously failed upon (I did this for testing purposes).

That being said, I am quite convinced that it's an .iso problem.

Also as a side note, I am extremely grateful for all the effort you have put into this. I have been wanting to play this since your first version which would've been what, 2/3 years ago? I don't recall, but after a solid 3 days of 700MB isos I gave up. It was only a few days ago I was somehow reminded of this patch and decided to try my luck with 0.22. This time I stuck with it, got it to work and have been playing all night.

    Thank you ffgreiver! ;D

As I'm quite new here, newbie question. Does the first post get updated with new versions? I figured it does, but it doesn't hurt to make sure that I definitely downloaded the most recent release.

That's the version I've got, and it patched just fine. Do you have the necessary 4gb of storage space to hold the patched ISO? Do you have both original ISOs in the same directory as the patcher? Is it possible one or both of the ISOs you ripped from the two discs are faulty?
