OK, for some reasons the game is starting only in fast boot-mode (by pressing SELECT when turning on console). Maybe it's because the iso is patched already to launch in ESR, and I'm running it normally. Actually I'm doing Sunstone quest on Giza Plains. I met a few bugs so far, but all of them are reported in this thread.

found a weird bug, happened twice to me, here it goes:
when doing the side-quest to the key to barheim passage to get the esper, well i did the all the quest, the patient recovered and i got the key but when i go to the door to start on that mission, all it does is gives me this message: "the door is securely lock." so i thought i did something wong so i started a quick run through the game and did the quest again with still no luck, so now here is what im using:
System: US Region PS2
Model No. :SCPH-39001
DVD Player: 2.12U
Free Mcboot: V 1.8
ESR: Newest version
I guess you're simply at the wrong door, there are two doors in the eastersand, try the other one.

umms its the only door left in the eastersands because after the mimic queen the other door is destroyed so you wont get that message from the other door
That's weird. I just made the quest yesterday and everything worked just fine. I went to the entrance, the "boss" and two seeqs were there. I came to the doors, used the key. Everything worked just fine.
I did the quest in one run (hunting cactoid, getting the needles, nebrahlim, seaclam shells, transporting the missing cactoid, velblossom dew - or whatever the names were) and then just got the key behind the house and went to the barheim passage entrance.
What "text donor" did you use? Did you use any item related cheats? Could you share the save?
hmm the text donor was english FFXII iso but i found out for god forsaken reason it worked for me after testing something in my save, it was from an earlier game, what i did was removed any trace of the game from my memory card and did it again and it worked just fine
so it was from an earlier patched english game that caused trouble for me, dont know how but it did >__>
Just received Order of Ambrosia. Except for RNG method for Gendarm and synchron method for Seitengrats everything was done with the english patch. No big bug at all, only the little ones that are well known and this Deadloop at the beginning which seems to be german patched only. Things i still want to do are maxing out the bestiary, get really everything of the Equipment, have only everything for my party setup and all letter weapons to write Final Fantasy in the inventory (looks so great). And of course Trial Mode and after that Weak Mode.
