As far as Brazilian Portuguese is concerned, there is no need to edit the font at all. All the characters are simply there (including all the diacritics).
You did help some people from Brazil concerning the translation already, didn't you?
Guys from Romhacking org from where I can remember.
They're doing the thing with the original release, but at long range, to do with the ZJS too.
I've asked user jdomingos how things doing and said he that without your help, couldn't start this project.
I'm trying to open the font file just to look at it. In a hex editor i see that there is "TIM2" at the beginning of the file a few lines down. None of the TIM2 viewing applications can open it. How were you able to view and edit this file?
Congratulations on releasing your polish version of IZJS! Now that it's finally released, is there any chance we'll see an update of the english version with the new menu screen? I recall you saying this would happen when the project was done.
Okay, well after all the former talk on lzss and font, I used AFS Explorer and got all the files. Files range from Dummies, to .est, and a whole bunch of random file extensions. Thing is, with Madedit (Hex Editor) I still don't see JP Characters, does that mean they are encrypted or still compressed (most probably right?). I also checked out rle, and My game isn't like that. I still don't understand why such a popular JP game wouldn't have an English Translation. So any chance they have GUI for decrypting LZSS? Or from here on out it's programming?
Not really. LZSS is just an algorithm. The actual implementations vary, just as the container formats. Though, if you're sure it's pure lzss, and you know the container format, you can skip to the actual data, and decompress every single file by setting few parameters. The problem is... Are you sure the data is compressed? And if you're sure it's compressed, then are you sure it's lzss? It might be just a game specific text encoding.
LZSS description can be found on the web. if you want some more in depth stuff, i recommend xentax forums, romhacking.
Also, to avoid unnecessary complicated programming, there is a tool called quickbms which allows you to define scripts (in a fairly simple language) to handle game archives (that includes extracting files and decompressing/decrypting them, and possibly repacking it all back). i think you could use it to un-lzss some files, even if they have custom headers.

ffgriever, I commend you on a job well done. Is there any chance that you will update the English version to the same level as the polish one? It would be a shame to leave something that is so close to being perfect unfinished. I appreciate it takes alot of time and effort but i for one would be infinatley grateful if it was completed to the same standard as the Polish version. I dont care for the cheat engine just the complete translaton and the aesthetics of the text. Either way, please let me know if you have any further plans for the project or if, in your eyes, you see it as complete enough? Cheers..
Edit: I don't know about anyone else but I would be willing to pay 5-10 euro for an English conversion as complete as the Polish one.
Hi,ffgriever, I learned that you jdomingos helped with translation tools because he stopped the project in Brazil, so I wonder if you could send me the translation tools.
