So I was kind of curious how this would play out, so I took my GTA 3 and made a ESR copy, and installed it to the HDD to test the load times.

The original copy is very scratched and i'm surprised it still even works, the backup is on a TDK disc with absolutely no scratches at all, and the HDD is... a HDD.

    Here are the results:

    1st load screen:
    Real: 26.4s
    Backup: 27s
    HDD: 13s

    Island load screen:
    Real: 4.5s
    Backup: 4.6s
    HDD: 2s

I'm surprised that the backup was slower, and that the HDD was only twice as fast. Just thought i'd post this in case someone else was curious.

Was the HDD internal or external? I know that internal is typically faster, but hard drives can also vary. When I get my hands on an internal and external HDD, I'll post my load numbers on some games.
